I am (fairly) well rested again, after the interesting experience of going to topB with only 1 hour of sleep under my belt and four packets of lucozade tablets in my pocket. It wasn't a bad night all in all, but I had a major case of the Evils that I still have for some reason. Ho-hum. I'm channeling it into a piece of poetry at the moment, whilst simultaneously thinking that I need to re-do parts of this site, redo all of the Pride site, find a gif for a Pride poster, return that fluids book, get a Engines book, look at trains to go down to Southampton blahblahblah.
Matt's re-done his front page! Again! It looks better than ever too :-)

Still here. Eyes hurt. Untangling 2000 words and putting them back together with pretty pictures and graphs that somehow convey my expert understanding of metallurgy. Need more caffeine.

Earlier this evening I was sitting in my room wondering if i could be arsed with an all-nighter tonight. Then I considered whether I really had any choice in the matter. I decided the answer to both was "no", and then started swearing profusely.
So now I am sat at a computer in uni that I don't intend to leave until the library opens tomorrow morning. If then. Fun fun fun.

Heylo peeps! First of all, and perhaps rather predictably, how good was Thursday night?!? First a fun exec meeting with many-a-chuckle and not much done, then random Good Music searches on DC++ at Giles' whilst managing to miss six consecutive buses, then a really good 'Bows. It was excellent to see everyone again, and I thought it was a really good atmosphere. But that might just have been the fact that I was hyper and peeps were complimenting my new hair slightly more that the people who were pointing and laughing. In retrospect I suspect I was slightly in my own little world of happiness and fluffy bunnies and friends :-) Apologies to anyone who fell foul of my verbal diarrhoea that is invariably the side affect of hyperness + drunkenness.
Friday morning I woke very early after only three hours sleep to the realisation that I had two deadlines coming up and not one, fun diddly fun fun. Lack of sleep, work and the fact that I was fuming at an ex-friend of mine (Looking back on this I have no idea who I was talking about, so I assume we kissed and made up at some point -Ed) meant I said almost nothing over lunch, more apologies to those I had lunch with for not being terribly good company. Anyways, I need to get on with the second of those assignments.

Happy St. George's Day everyone. Bloody patron saint of bloody England for anyone who doesn't know that. Ahh to see all the English St. George's cross flags flying around these piddling little backwater villages… I want to go back to Edinburgh! *sob* I took the long route into uni, via Syndnham and Kenilworth, so after one day I've already had my fill of suburbia. Someone make it stop please.
On the upside I've discovered that the only assignment I've got due in is the one I thought I had, so no nasty surprises, although it does mean there are some particularly evil fluids assignments coming up sometime. Oh and its sunny too. But not that sunny, to be fair. Not as sunny as it has been in Edinburgh.

Raah! My site looks lovely! At least it does using MSIE and whatever settings my computer is using. Apparantly it looks slightly dodgey using Phoenix, and I haven't had any other reports as of yet so sorry if it looks less than perfect. Anyway, having done all the stuff I said before and added a hit counter (Hits? Ha! What hits?) I've run out of practical things to do to it, so I added Giles and Carly to the Friends and Fotos section. I should really start to pack sometime soon as I'm heading back to Uni tomorrow/today whichever way you look at it.
Woohoo! Managed to get Mynci Boi 1.1 finished. Which is to say it's now done with CSS and the blog it automated through Blogger, and what is more this is done with out making the site die a horrible death, which is all good. On the downside, I do find myself still in Edinburgh when all the sensible people are back at Uni, so I shall be missing the 1st Top Banana of term, much apologies to anyone who notices my absence :-)
The other day whilst channel-flicking I came across Priscilla, Queen of the Desert and was much taken aback to find that the wooden-faced actor Hugo Weaving who I already knew plays both Elrond in Lord of the Rings and Agent Smith in the Matrix is not only Australian but plays the much more flamboyant Tick in Priscilla. Clearly the guy can act after all. My bad.

I can't believe I'm going home in like two days! I've still got so much left to do! And that's stuff I /want to/ do, never mind stuff I /should/ do! Erk. For instance, hopefully this will be my last manual blog, as tomorrow I fully intend to suss out Blogger and let that do the dull work of formatting every time I do anything. Speaking of which, I shall also be sussing the basics of CSS. Yaay me!
I'm not a geek. No, really. I just relish the kind of problems that involve the sentiment "there must be a better way to do this", which is something I must have thought a couple of hundred times putting this thing together, and most of the time, there was a better way! Some of which I didn't find until I was finished the task in question unfortunately, but hey.
Anyways, to be honest I've yet to hear a satisfactory definition of a geek, my aversion is purely down to the fact that I hate people pigeon holing me as anything at all unless I choose the pigeon myself. Doesn't everyone?
There's a puppy in the house! It is 7 weeks old and still manages to smell distinctly of dog. It also has the attention span of… well the only thing I can think of that comes near is someone on magic mushrooms but that isn't a helpful comparison for sensible people. But believe me, its short. Also as it moves around I can't help but get the impression that each leg has not the faintest idea what any other of the legs are doing.
HTML cells have minds of their own. And evil, bitter, twisted minds they are.

Well, I'm finished. Or rather I'm finished mynci boi ver 1.0 I even registered .org and put a forwardy thingy to my uni web space, so it all works pretty much. It's not nearly as cool as wabson or alpen, natch, but 'tis but a fledgling site, plus, I am not a geek, so there.
16 Apr 2003
I'm sure it's like illegal or something to be up this early… Speaking of which my mum didn't meet the news that while she'd been away for three weeks I'd been ill twice - possibly due to glandular fever - and that I'd lost 5 kg taking me back to how much I weighed as a teenager - with much enthusiasm.

I hate that new ad campaign with the tune/slogan of "things that make you go MMMM" because I know the original song, and like it, but its all about the warning signs of when your significant other is cheating on you. Not so fun.
In the name of random linkage, learn all about the wondrous world of the difference between American smileys and a
Japanese smileys. The turn your attention to what a glaive is (Blade 2 was wrong) and how to fight with it.
12 Apr 2003
I woke up at 5 pm today… At least that was the last time I woke up. My sleep pattern is completely screwed, and I'm really quite ill. Again. And I have to work tomorrow at my dads bookshop. At 11 in the morning! Blasphemy!

I've just momentarily stopped playing the games that Mikey brought and left when he came to visit for a couple of days. Productivity is gonna hit a whole new low. Still, it was a lot of fun searching around Edinburgh for an eatery that was sufficiently posh for his high standards yet cheap enough for me, as well as trying to see everything there was to see in just a couple of days. Tuesday night was random beyond belief, we found a club night where I swear there were more good looking, stylish people in that one room than there have been in every club I have been to before. So much so that it lead me to thinking where the hell all the good looking people in the midlands hang out…
Anyway, there's a story there, and it involves a couple of guys who were utterly convinced that their names were Jean-Paul and Miriam, but it would take a while to explain.
On an aside; my little brother, the same one who did those pics on artyness, attempted to wash his clothes in our washing machine the other day. Not only did he manage to put the powder in the gap for liquid fabric softener, clogging it up completely, he used dishwasher powder, which FYI you don't really want next to your skin.

Oh my god, I am so drunk right now. Broke my last standing new years resolution about not drinking any beer for tonight… Also was completely mistaken about the date of Waz's birthday, apparently I was the first to wish him a happy birthday through sheer incompetence, yaay me!
06 Apr 2003
Woo, mental… I've finally finished what might be called stage one of putting together this here site. It was more difficult than I expected, though its all strictly amateur I assure you. I'm quite chuffed with how things look so far, even though there's a few graphicy things that probably need changing, but they're the kind of things nobody else would notice anyways =) I asked three people which of four buttons they preferred, and had to explain to each of them what the differences were… :)
Now I just need to do the content… No problem!
Oh yeah, and it was Waz's 21st Birthday two and a half hours ago!
