Technology sucks

30 Sep 2004

ARGH!

My mouse keeps tripping off, needing me to put the computer on standby and back to get it working again. Also it tends to spontaneously restart on alt-tabbing into divx programs. And the two cooling fans sound like a whole pride of over-contented lions.

But most importantly, I'm not getting all of my messenger messages, so if I am ignoring you or I stop talking incongruently it's because I didn't get your message. Please try again. Or maybe you didn't get mine? Damned thing.

Ego tripping at the gates of hell

22 Sep 2004

I won't have internet in my house until the 28th.

Utter nightmare.

I'm not sure I'll come out the other side with sanity intact; it's stretching even now.

NEED! INTERNET!

Random fantasticness

08 Sep 2004

Running into someone I used to know in school is something I've always accepted was a possibility, even if it was a small school and I spent most of my time being pretty unsociable in an adolescent study of implacability. Nevertheless I was shocked and amazed -- whilst simultaneously hugely amused by the glorious randomness of it -- when at a rocky grungy gay club on Monday I was introduced to a someone who was in the year above me, and had know on and off for 7 years.

Mental.

I played warhammer and painted models with this guy, somewhere I still have some citadel miniatures I let him paint. Later when we were in different houses we were both in a group of peeps that played more traditional historical wargames, and another one that went scuba diving. We never actually hung out; I was an anti-social fuck until my last year, by which time he had left, but still… He introduced his boyfriend,
asked after my mother and gave me his bright pink business card.

Utter head-fuck!

We Londoners

06 Sep 2004

I now live in Shepherd's Bush! Mental. Last week was a bit of a nightmare. Can't quite get my head around it myself. It's funny that the kind of people I was lamenting not knowing a year and a bit ago I now live with :-)

I definitely need some new friends though; the other day I was stuck in Leamington with nothing to do but sunbathe and buy birthday cards, so to pass the time I went through my phone book and deleted half the entries :-)

House party at our place sometime soon, watch this space!
