It's the last day of my job at the Library and it's been a strange week. We've been operating as reference only so I keep having to explain to people that "No, you can't borrow that book". On top of that our opening ours have changed as well as the day we shut, and the only way people can find any of this out is by reading a tiny "poster" on the library wall. Or by asking me.

In other news, I've caught the vicious lurgy from my colleague at work -the current stage of which involves my voice dropping half an octave-, and my new 19" TFT monitor arrived today, though I had to leave for work so I haven't had a chance to set it up yet.

Obviously the shadow-mug-thing wasn't ready to be joined with the text yet, it was obvious to me, and it was obvious to you, but for some reason it wasn't obvious to you that it was obvious to me… Lots more comments please!

Edit: Closer but no cigar. Missed me again!

What with domain squatters on both mynciboi.org and mynciboi.com it seems time for

a change.

quick note

Working on the new logo has hit a wall, need a pure vector program to do it I think. You can get programs that turn typefaces into vectors right? Hmmm…

Anyways, bunch of photos up on flickr, a couple of randoms and a few from the last couple of party things I went to.

Oh my god…

Bugger Live8, bugger winning the bid, this is the momentous day people are going to remember. I guess I should be grateful to my fubared work hours becuase when all this was going down I was in bed :-/

Anyway, I'm fine. Hugs to everyone.

Due to being on the graveyard shift at the library (Yeah, I'm still having trouble getting my head around that) I've crossed some sort of line whereby I've got so much time on my hands I've started reading random blogs again, like in times of yore. It's a little dissapointing to flick over to a blog I haven't read in months/years and find its design is essentially unchanged… I surfed my way to a random site that told me I don't exist. Cheek! I tried both with and without the extra names and the silly "é", and nuffink! I'd link the offenders but it's a horrible site in most respects, and besides I'm not convinced anyone is reading this anyway :-)

Messege of the day: Not good enough. Must do better.

I felt slightly arty scribbling notes and taking photos of traffic from the window of Coffee Republic, but NOT! ARTY! ENOUGH! Also this site bites. More on that soon.

Get lost

04 Jul 2005

Earlier today it was sunny out and I was noncing around Covent Garden with a bag of "American Style" white chocolate cookies under my arm, wondering if it would be Wrong to eat all of them at once, determined not to make a decision either way until it was a moot point. I was equally determined to get lost, albeit without losing my sense of direction…

It was nice. Easy to forget I was barely a third of the way through my stint at the library-for-strange-people with its subtropical temperatures. When a moped passed with its dodgy two-stroke engine echoing off the buildings it almost felt like I was back in Spain, with nothing at all to do but explore, and just… See stuff. And when done in one place go to another to see if there might be more stuff to see there.

Unfortunately this sensation only lasted about 15 minutes, but I intend to attempt to get lost again tomorrow, and the day after, and the day after that. It's the only way to get to know a place.

Thanks to all that came to our little BBQ, it was a lot of fun.
